Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
  • ½ Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 50 ml Sunflower Oil
  • 300 g Brussels Sprouts Trimmed and Cut in Half
  • 4 Garlic Cloves Minced
  • 1 Thumb Sized Piece of Ginger Peeled and Grated
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds

Method

  1. In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil. Set aside for later.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat in a wok or cast-iron skillet. Add the sprouts cut side down and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sprouts begin to char.
  3. Add the garlic and ginger and gently stir fry until the harshness from the garlic and ginger has cooked out.
  4. Add the sauce to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes. Toss to evenly coat all the sprouts in the sauce. It should thicken and cling to the sprouts slightly.
  5. Finish with the sesame seeds.
